Hi All! So happy to make your acquaintance.
My name's Amara (they/any), I'm a Witch, Pagan, and spirit-botherer of 16 years. I am also a housespouse, writer, editor and part-time occult researcher who has spent many years working alongside and supporting the creative and performing arts community of greater Cincinnati.
I identify as a disabled queer Brown Appalachian of mostly South Asian and English descent. While I have many obligations and responsibilities to my path, I am fully committed to interfaith and cross-cultural dialogue as a part of my devotion to my interpretation of pagan lay ministry. I believe that everyone has something amazing to contribute to the lives of others, and that the craft of living well together is nothing to sneeze at!
My craft blends an affinity for formal academic study with the more visceral creative arts of song, dance, and theatrical performance. I weave together stories and philosophies of many different cultures into an animist, polytheistic approach to theological and artistic study and practice that I hope will one day do some good in the world. I see Witchcraft as a form of Pagan Ministry, and it is from that lens that I pursue such Arts.
I have recently fallen in love with Covington, its people, and its spirits (seriously, GREAT crowd you have down here!) and I am so excited that there is a coven that aligns with my values in the area! I look forward to meeting all of you—to paraphrase the Buddha, "Friendship is not half of the holy path, it is the whole of it."
May the world be kind to you, and to us all,
Amara
